The Diamond Family Archive, “a unique multi-instrumentalist roving ensemble based around the guitar playing and songwriting of Laurence Collyer”, has shared a video giving a glimpse an upcoming project based around “an old dilapidated Kay Kansas guitar which age and weather has naturally adapted for slide.”
The accompanying monochromatic video for Wood Store Guitar No.3 lends itself perfectly to the improvised piece and the guitar which has spent the last few years of its life outdoors in all climates preparing itself for these recordings.
The recordings will be available as a limited handmade CD with components made from the guitar itself. As with last album ‘Black Autumn‘, it will also be available as a digital release across all platforms from Pegdoll Records.
The Diamond Family Archive was due to play at in Hereford recently at the Weirdshire night at the Babar cafe (organised by Sproatly Smith – read a recent article by Kate Gathercole of Sproatly here) which of course was cancelled due to the current pandemic. To make up for it, this lovely video performance was offered up instead.
