Dream-pop/folk project Rosemary & Garlic, solely lead by Dutch singer Anne van den Hoogen, return with their first new track in nearly two years. Recorded earlier this year with mixing done by Ian Grimble (Daughter, Mumford & Sons, Bear’s Den), “Frames” is an atmospheric slice of delicate melancholy which Rosemary & Garlic have finely crafted over the past few years, all underpinned by van den Hoogen’s strikingly ethereal vocals.
“The song and the video are about daring to change direction. To break the frames around a fixed picture and let curiosity take the lead. “Looking at the images we shot in Spain, I see myself in beautiful colors and frames. But I hardly dare to move. You can see I’m not comfortable, you can see my moody hands and the doubt in my face. I chose to break these images down and tried to find a more fluid one. Visually we also broke the marble walls down and followed the cracks and gravel towards the sand of the beach. There was the sea and the horizon, the freedom of new possibilities…”
Rosemary & Garlic are currently working on more new music, more details to be announced over the coming months.
