Riding the wave of his hugely popular ‘corona collaborations’ series and successful album-crowdfunding campaign (read our recent interview), Ciaran Algar has expanded the project further to include an online festival taking place this weekend Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May. All proceeds from the festival will go to musicians who have had their income affected by the lockdown.
The CCC Festival will feature exclusive performances from many of the artists that took part in the project, including Blair Dunlop, Edgelarks, Calan and lots more (see lineup below).
“Over the last 50 days of making the collaboration videos” Ciaran explains, “I saw a lot of comments from people saying how they were discovering new artists that they may not have come across before. That’s exactly what I hoped for when I started this project; a sort of audience-sharing that could benefit everyone involved. We’re now talking this a step further with the CCC Festival- a two-day event taking place on the 9th and 10th of May where acts who’ve been a part of my collaborations can perform a solo set, without me messing around over the top of it!”
The CCC Festival will feature new and exclusive home-recorded performances from many of the artists that took part in Ciaran’s project, interspersed with live Q and A sessions with the artists. Inside sources say that there will be some stunning performances! Many of the artists will be online and available to chat to during their sets.
The festival is free to view, but viewers are strongly encouraged to donate. Links will be provided and all donations will be split equally between all of the artists, all of whom have lost income due to the lockdown.
