The gorgeous Spring Anthem ‘Snowdrops and Me’ by Fran Wyburn from her debut album ‘Wood for the Trees’ (produced by talented folk musician and producer Dan Webster) is a serene hypnotic waltz between Fran’s soaring, ethereal vocals and George Birkett’s delicate and bewitching guitar. It was written during a spring cleaning frenzy looking out from the ‘kitchen sink’ at the snowdrops rising through her wintery garden. The song is a ‘bottled essence of Spring’ with all of its hope of new beginnings.
The music video, an echo of the song’s journey, makes for a mesmerising and meditative watch. It is the visual brainchild of director and producer Rich Whitby from Funky Sputnik Productions who executes this complex filming technique so beautifully and along with the vivid colours and imaginative backdrop, the film creates a real wonderland.
It’s been 2 years since we heard from Fran who has been taking a sabbatical from her own music whilst she had her baby boy, turned her attention to theatre composing (writing both an opera and musical) as well as delivering the community music projects she leads. However, now her son has turned 1 she will be back in full force celebrating the album something she was unable to do initially because of a difficult pregnancy. So give her a follow and sign up to her mailing list for some exciting releases.
