Last month, we shared the news that the two-time GRAMMY®-nominated (2006/2014) folk singer, songwriter and activist Eliza Gilkyson is to release her new album, 2020, on April 10th on Red House Records. The songs featured, are a collection of politically charged anthems (including two folk favourites: Bob Dylan’s “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” and Pete Seeger’s “Where Have All the Flowers Gone”) designed to motivate, reflect and inspire action during what she believes will be “the most important USA election of our lifetime.” That announcement was accompanied by her first single ‘Sooner or Later’ which touched on poverty, distribution of wealth, healthcare, racial segregation and the environment.
She has now shared a new lyric video for her song “Beautiful World of Mine” which emphasizes gratitude and love for our world, and it’s a reminder of the things we have in common, rather than the things that divide us. The lyric video was produced by her son Cisco Ryder who also produced the album.
Gilkyson says: “2020 was born out of a visceral impulse to promote unity, commitment and action during this epic and critical showdown of power versus people in the USA and our world today.
“May human decency prevail.”
