Ahead of her return to the UK for a short co-headline tour with Samantha Whates (dates below), Ida Wenøe is to release a new single version of Värmeland on 31st January.
Värmeland, taken from her second album The Things We Don’t Know Yet (reviewed here), was inspired by a recording session in an old wooden house in Sweden, with snow so deep that the band had to transport their equipment there on bobsleighs:
“Snow has a way of both covering and revealing. There’s something so delicate about that. You don’t see the things beneath, but you see everything above. The things above will disappear but the things underneath will not, and will catch up with you eventually.”
