In the latter half of last year, Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish, who make up duo My Darling Clementine, released an EP titled Country Darkness Vol 1. on which they shared their love of Elvis Costello’s music. They were joined on the album by Steve Nieve, keyboard player with Costello’s The Attractions and The Imposters, plus Colin Elliot, Dean Beresford and Shez Sheridan.
They recently shared a video for Stranger In The House, which, in his review of the album here, Mike Davies declared:
It’s a perfect fit for the duo’s trading lines and verses style, jangling and twangy guitars backing the vocals with Nieve on piano and organ and, while there have been numerous covers, including a fine version by Rachel Sweet, this is hands down the best.
