Last year saw the reformation of Mountain Man featuring Amelia Meath, Alexandra Sauser-Monnig and Molly Sarlé. The trio first met at Bennington College, Vermont, where the transformation into the sound that they describe as “a creature growing from [their] mouths” began leading to their highly acclaimed 2010 debut album Made The Harbor. Despite being scattered to different parts of the world pursuing personal projects and escapes from the turmoil of modern living fate soon brought them back together which saw them reunite as a band for a small forest festival in Wisconsin before heading back to the studio for the release of Magic Ship in September last year.
Since releasing that album they have also treated fans to a number of cover singles including Mountain Man Sings John Denver, a festive seasonal White Christmas and now Mountain Man Sings Wilco. The chosen song is You and I, a celebration of their union…
“We have been band members, collaborators, friends and business partners for over 10 years now, so a song like “You and I,” a celebration of creating a relationship that is totally unique and filled with mystery, seemed very appropriate.”
In case you missed it, here’s the Tiny Desk Concert they performed on NPR:
