As recently mentioned on Folk Radio, Stick in the Wheel have returned to the original line up as a duo with Nicola Kearey and Ian Carter (EAN) having spent most of this year in the studio writing and experimenting. They recently announced Against The Loathsome Beyond, the second volume of explorations and collaborations. Their collaborators this time around include experimental folk guitarist C Joynes, Jack Sharp from psyche-proggers Wolf People and US/Ireland/Norway’s epic-folk-punk hybrids Cinder Well.
Today, they have shared their new video for Drive the Cold Winter Away, as with previous videos they have again teamed up with Teresa Elizabeth Lobos (Lagomorphosis) for a series of animations.
“This English Elizabethan carol is about coming together in the coldest and leanest of seasons. Contains: forgiveness, sharing, friendship, togetherness, honest delights.”
Against The Loathsome Beyond is released on 29 November 2019. Limited edition cassette, CD and digital.
