With the success of the Folk Prostate Cancer Concerts in November 2018, raising just over an incredible £7000, it will be taking place at the stunning Penistone Paramount, Penistone again this year. This time, however, there will be music over two days! A Saturday afternoon and evening concert on November 16th and another show on Sunday night, November 17th.
The support last year was enormous with 2 sold-out shows in one day and this year is set to be even better. What is key here is raising awareness of Prostate Cancer, raising money for such a great cause in Folk Prostate Cancer UK, and saving lives. Music is a hugely valuable and powerful way of getting this message across. We all need music in our lives (and schools for that matter) and every artist taking part is doing so because they too want to spread the word and help prostate cancer statistics to reduce.
The line-up this year includes none other than Barnsley song-stress, Mercury-nominated Kate Rusby, and one of the UK greatest storytellers and songwriters, Ralph McTell who is now celebrating more than 50 years in the business and whose latest album ‘Hill of Beans’ was reviewed here on Folk Radio. Get yourself to the wonderful Penistone Paramount for what is sure to be a thrilling weekend of music from some of the leading lights in the Folk and Acoustic music world:
