A glance through Lisa Bastoni‘s bio reveals a long list of awards and recognitions, including 2019 Kerrville New Folk winner. This comes as no surprise as the Boston-based singer-songwriter has a natural way with words and melody that stand her out from the crowd. While her songs often reflect her personal journey through life’s challenges and rewards, there are some wonderful enlightened moments which are sure to lighten your step, as can be heard on the moving Pockets Full of Sighs which we have the pleasure of premiering below and is also out Song of the Day.
Of the song, she tells is “‘Pockets Full of Sighs’ was a phrase I discovered while looking through a bag of unpublished songs my grandmother left me, along with her guitar. The line about souvenirs came to me in an airport in Nashville. I was, literally, a long way from home, looking at a rack of little guitar-shaped keychains. This is a song about finding moments of desire, creativity and imagination in the midst of ordinary life.”
The video was filmed by Beehive Productions.
The song features on Lisa’s new album ‘How We Want To Live‘ which was written while she was in the midst of a divorce, but rather than being a breakup album it finds Lisa digging deep into creating the life she truly wants for herself, with guest appearances by Lula Wiles, Rose Cousins, and Mark Erelli.
