Earlier this year The Little Unsaid released Atomise and in his review of the album, Thomas Blake drew particular focus to John Elliott‘s song writing (read it here) calling the album his most expansive and fully realised.
Many writers – poets and authors as well as songwriters – occupy themselves with the edges of things, with margins and borders… Elliott’s limits are those of the human mind, his margins are the borders between mind and body. He has carved out a niche as a poet of mental disintegration, a chronicler of very real and very difficult human emotions. But his songs are not without hope. Thomas Blake, Folk Radio UK
On November 8th, The Little Unsaid will release Music / Nature (via Reveal Records), an EP of tracks recorded during the Atomise album sessions. These six tracks extend the album’s themes of finding hope and meaning amidst an atmosphere of division, and the many forms of fragmentation – of the self, of our communities, relationships, memories – that we struggle against day to day.
Taken from the EP, watch the accompanying video for Nature which was filmed by Martin D Hyde. The track is described as “A desperate, anger-fueled look at the relationship between humanity and the natural world when we finally confront the irreversible destruction we’ve inflicted on our planet.”
