The multi-talented Alessi’s Ark returns tomorrow with her new single ‘Sacred’. Front-woman and folk-pop siren Alessi Laurent-Marke is a name we’ve long associated with the likes of Rachael Dadd, Francois and the Atlas Mountains, This Is The Kit and Rozi Plain. All of whom she has collaborated and toured with and through whom, beyond friendship and talent shares a kinship for producing progressively more adventurous music that beckons like an oasis on a flat horizon. Alessi tells us:
‘Sacred’ was written in the late Spring and recorded in a cabin on the South East coast with additional recording at Arch 79 in East London. The two very different environments are reflected in the song, which discusses the pushing and pulling of love and relationships and is a kind of prayer for the ability to balance all with grace. I played electric guitar and drums on the track and Ark member/producer Jason Santos played the keys, synths and bass. After playing numerous highly sought-after venues and festivals, Alessi’s journey continues to blossom. With her new single set to be released September 27th and performance lined across the UK in October and November 2019 is looking to be a year in which the Ark will take on new and greater heights.
