The Orphan Brigade previously brought us ‘Soundtrack to a Ghost Story’ in 2015 which was recorded at Octagon Hall, a plantation house in Franklin, Kentucky. In 2017 they brought us ‘Heart of the Cave’ recorded in Osimo, a town in Italy under whose streets lie 2,500-year-old caves with tunnels that once hosted religious secret societies. For their latest release, To the Edge of the World, they head to the scenic Antrim Coast.
Taken from the album, watch the first video for the track ‘The Banshee‘, also our Song of the Day, on which they shared the following:
We wrote this late at night in the darkness of Glenarm forest, as we felt the theme required us to be in an eery, atmospheric location. This was similar to our process in the first album which we wrote and recorded in a haunted house, a process in which we basically tried to scare ourselves into art. According to Irish mythology a banshee is a female spirit whose wailing or keening warns of the death of a family member.
We shot the video on location at Malin Head in County Donegal (Ireland’s most northerly point) and on the Antrim Coast N.Ireland.
