The release of Karine Polwart’s Scottish Songbook album (reviewed here) found a surge of fans rushing to buy the album which sent it to number 34 in the UK Album Charts, Karine’s first-ever Top 40 Album. It also reached an incredible No 2 in the Scottish Album Charts.
The album has brought her some great publicity including an interview on Channel 4 News where she was introduced as the ‘High Priestess of Scottish Folk’. Watch the interview here.
Here she is performing a cover of The Waterboys ‘The Whole of the Moon’ from the album.
If you want to hear the songs live, the six-piece Scottish Songbook Band will be playing a handful of special shows later in the year.
