Canada manages to export some incredible music and one of their finest duos is The Small Glories featuring Cara Luft, an original member of the Wailin’ Jennys, and multi-instrumentalist J D Edwards.
There’s a carefree buoyancy to their music which translates perfectly from stage to album, they can lift and carry any audience along with them as they prove here performing ‘Secondhand’, live in Concert at the West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The song features on their new album Assiniboine & The Red which is released later this week on June 28 via Red House Records.
The theme of home features strongly on this album and ‘Secondhand’ is no exception. They both enjoy the adventures that touring across the land brings but those adventures would be so much better if their loved ones were there with them to experience them firsthand.
The album will be released worldwide on June 28 on Red House Records. The album title references the junction of two rivers, the Assiniboine (pronounced ‘uh-sin-uh-boin’) and the Red, in the duo’s hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and celebrates the happenstance meeting of Cara Luft and J D Edwards.
We’ll be bringing you more on the album soon.
