It’s been a little while since I put together a Lost in Transmission mix, something this week’s show makes up for. We have a double-helping of Dark-Americana from Normal, Illinois courtesy of Ohtis and their new album Curves of Earth. Joy Williams, our current Artist of the Month, graces us with the title track of her latest album Front Porch.
We also have music from another recently Featured release via The Little Unsaid with Particles, taken from his latest album Atomise alongside new music from Bill Callahan and Jake Xerxes Fussell. Other newcomers to FRUK include Molly Sarlé and Gia Margaret while the rest of the playlist features a random mix of favourites that just sprang up from the depths of my memory while listening.
The images for the mix were taken on 35mm film using a vintage TLR camera while I was walking in the woods a few days ago, one is a double exposure which creates a very dreamy look that seems to suit this music well. They were shot in black and white and home developed but I’ve done a little post-processing to introduce some colour. You can find more of my film photography here.
