House and Land perform “Ca the Yowes” for Shirley Collins

An extra special treat at the end of the week as North Carolina folk duo House and Land (Sally Anne Morgan and Sarah Louise Henson) pay a visit to the home of Shirley Collins, who they met whilst on tour in Europe last year. Watch them performing Ca the Yowes for her which we’ve chosen as our Song of the Day.

The song, thought to be from the pen of the Ayrshire poet Isabel Pagan, was transferred to song by Robert Burns in the late sixteenth century and features on their latest album Across the Land which we reviewed here.
