Has it really been seven years since their last album? Apparently so, as Danish band Efterklang announces the release of their fifth album ‘Altid Sammen’ (meaning Always together) which will be released September 20th on 4AD & Rumraket. The announcement comes with the release of their first single ‘Vi er uendelig’ (“We are infinite”) which is released today digitally. The accompanying video was directed by Andreas Koefoed (who also directed The Ghost Of Piramida) and features the Danish model and photographer Helena Christensen. The band tell us it is a homage to an iconic Johnny Hallyday TV performance in 1964.
Efterklang will perform the album in its entirety the day after release at a sold-out show at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie during Reeperbahn Festival (18-21 September). They will tour Europe throughout the year and into 2020, a full list of dates can be found here: https://efterklang.net/concerts
It will come as no surprise to those familiar with the band that the artwork for their album is spectacular. It’s by Hvass&Hannibal & SeenCGI. Pre-order the album here.
