John Smith has shared a captivating music video for Hummingbird, the title track of his latest album. Filmed by Simon Whitehead the video features dancer Adelie Lavail, interspersed with her graceful movements she creates the most perfect accompaniment to the lyrics…
“She comes to me in glimpses now
As fleeting as a word
Flashes bright and disappears
My darling Hummingbird”
It is one of three original Smith penned songs from the album. In our interview with him, he explained how he wrote the song in about twenty minutes. “It was one of those unusual things where a song just pops out and when it did I knew that it would be the glue that held the rest of it together.”
“A work of mature and subtle beauty…this album should be heard by everyone.” Glenn Kimpton (Album Review)
John is playing two nights at Ronnie Scott’s this month, supporting Eric Bibb. Although tickets are now sold out, John has other UK dates lined up.
