Today marks the launch of Here’s The Truth, the new single from Keston Cobblers’ Club which is accompanied by a colourful fun video below. The song is the fourth single to be taken from their forthcoming album Siren (12th April) which finds them going back to their roots. The song embodies that original energy and sound(something they touch on below) that we became so enamoured with when they first came on the scene all those years ago (back in the days when Myspace was actually useful).
Taking back complete control, the band have been able to self-produce ‘Siren’, which realigns them with their organic beginnings. With raw musicality, writing and crafted production by Cobblers’ frontman and co-writer Matthew Lowe, sister Julia Lowe’s songwriting offers an alternative tone, that balances the overall feeling of the album.
Matthew says: “‘We took a year off at the end of 2017 to get back to the basics of what we love about Keston Cobblers’ Club. ‘Siren’ was the result of our last ten years together and we are extremely proud”. The album travels from big, raucous singles such as title track ‘Siren’, ‘Another Summer’ (a sure to be hit for the season) and ‘Esta’, to the stripped, beautiful songwriting of ‘Swimming Pool’, ‘Eye to Eye’, ‘State’ and ‘Here’s the Truth’. Cobblers’ also go back to what made them unique from the start, with idiosyncratic tracks such as the instrumental ‘Open Sesame’, the evocative ‘I want You’, ‘Library’ and the sumptuous ‘For, Ever’ and ‘Eveline’. Julia says ‘This was a passion album, a set of songs that encapsulate what we originally created Cobblers for. To us, the word “Siren” is alluring and bold, drawing you in; we’re back and we want the world to know! We can’t wait for our fans to hear it.”
The new album will be supported by a 9-date UK tour, kicking off in Birmingham on April 3, and including a special, SOLD OUT London album launch at London’s renowned Bush Hall.
There’s also another European tour in the works and a busy summer of festivals. “Going on tours and playing to fans is where we really get to see how our new music has been received,” says Matt. “After a long year off from touring, we can’t wait to get back out on the road and perform, we’re very excited.”
‘Siren’ is out April 12.
