A little while back we shared the news that Kansas City duo Betse Ellis (fiddle) and Clarke Wyatt (banjo), who love to explore Ozark old time music, were to tour Scotland. Whilst over (in Sept/Oct) they also stopped in on Bruce McGregor’s Travelling Folk on BBC Radio Scotland to record a session which was aired towards the end of September.
Although rooted in Ozark music, Betse & Clark are no strangers to collaboration. In The Last Whole Earth Revival they form a trio with Brett Ratliff who is a multi-instrumentalist and lifelong apprentice of the Kentucky repertoire. Together, they make a beautiful sound as demonstrated on their video for Waterbound which was filmed along the rugged scenic coast of Big Sur, California where they had some fun along the way. Enjoy!
