Seth Lakeman is the star of the latest episode of Matthew Bannister’s beautiful podcast “Folk on Foot”, launching on Friday 16th November.
Seth takes Matthew for a walk on his beloved Dartmoor. They start in the village of Buckland Monachorum where Seth and his musical brothers Sean and Sam grew up. In the local church, Seth teams up with organist Audrey to re-create his haunting 2004 recording “Cape Clear”. In the grounds of the village school – where he was a pupil and where he now sends his young children – Seth sings “An Educated Man” from his new album “The Well Worn Path.” Then he and Matthew climb the hills above the Burrator Reservoir where Seth performs “Kitty Jay”, “The White Hare” and “The Courier”. Along the way, he reflects on sibling rivalry, the myths and legends of Dartmoor and his experiences of touring the world with the former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant.
