This evening at The Local in Dungarvan, Country Waterford, Ireland you will find traditional Irish fiddle player Colm Keane launching his new album Tune Song Tune. Joe Brennan, one of five guitarists that appear on the album (also features Martin Dermody, Eugene Quinn, Ger Furlong & Tony Byrne) wrote some lovely words about the album:
“Creating the kind of music that connects people is the highest ideal of the musician’s art. This album embeds Colm’s passion for the traditional and folk canon with his unique energy and talent as a fiddlist, singer, producer, collaborator, arranger and tunesmith and it cements musical friendships built over decades. As a side note, us guitarists are a notoriously territorial, precocious and protective bunch. The fact that Colm has managed to corral and tame five of us on this album is a testament to the exceptional regard within which he is held by those who have been a part of his inspiring musical journey thus far. Long may it continue…..”
The tunes snuggle up alongside some great songs to make a great all-around album that fizzes with warmth and character. Take a listen to the set: The Crib of Perches, Hughie Traver’s & the Galtee Ranger, our Tune of the Day.
