Later this month on 26th October, Breabach will release their highly anticipated 6th studio album, Frenzy of the Meeting. It’s currently one of our Featured Albums of the Month and in his recent review of the album, Neil McFadyen closed his review with some tantalizing words in which he referred to the journey the band had been on since their last album Astar.
“Breabach embarked on the journey from Astar to Frenzy of the Meeting with an open mind and a keen desire to explore, listeners who join them are sure to enjoy the results with an ever increasing sense of wonder.” Read the full review here.
The lead single from the album is Birds of Passage which is available now. Accompanying the single is a beautiful animated video by Cat Bruce (http://www.catbruce.co.uk/) which captures the very essence of the song and music perfectly.
Ewan Robertson of Breabach is no stranger to Cat’s work, she created a video for his cover of Richard Thompson’s Vincent Black Lighting (which featured on his 2010 solo album Some Kind of Certainty). He shared the following on her latest creation:
“Birds of Passage is a song based on the fragile dreams of migration. Our idea was that through the simple imagery of birds in flight, we could evoke the hardships and dangers, triumphs and beauty of this important topic. We were absolutely delighted to collaborate with Bafta winning animator Cat Bruce, who has produced such a creative and beautiful interpretation of the song, we love what she’s done!”
Frenzy of the Meeting is available on 26 October (Digital/CD/Vinyl).
