This is How we Fly – Irish Tour & London Date

In 2010, Irish fiddle player Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh was commissioned by the Dublin Fringe Festival to create a new band. The three musicians he selected come from diverse musical backgrounds resulting in a sound unlike anything heard before.

The Band are:

Seán Mac Erlaine, a Dublin jazz musician and composer.

Petter Berndalen, a Swedish folk drummer.

Nic Gareiss, an American hard shoe percussive dancer.

and of course…Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh

They were to rehearse and perform once as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival. However, eight years on, This is How we Fly are still going strong. They have recorded two albums, you can watch them performing Rí Rua from their last album below.

They have recorded a film soundtrack, music for dance and held residencies in institutions such as Princeton and The Irish Arts Centre in the USA. In the last eight years, they have continued to wow audiences all over Ireland, the US and Europe.

This November This is How we Fly will tour across Ireland and perform at London’s Barbican Centre as part of the Nest Collective’s Campfire Club.  They are currently writing their third album in conjunction with a residency at Navan’s Solstice Arts Centre. Audiences are certainly in for a treat as they experience music from the new album alongside older material. The tour is presented by Islander who were responsible for the Ye Vagabonds tour earlier this year.

With a solid reputation for charming and dazzling audiences, this is just too good to miss.
