As recently announced on Folk Radio UK, Scottish quartet Fara have announced the release of a new album. Times from Times Fall was produced by the wonderful Scottish folk guitarist Anna Massie – I would have loved to have been a fly-on-the-wall at Castle Sound for that week, it was appreantely a mad riot – how could it not be with Fara and Massie in the same room! The album is out on 19th October and we’ll be bringing you more very soon, but in the meantime…
Below you can watch their first music video from the album for the song Love Gathers All (also our Song of the Day). The video was made by Mike Guest in which he captures Kristan Harvey, Jeana Leslie, Catriona Price and Jennifer Austin performing in an abandoned office block.
They shared the following about the track:
“For the songs on the new album we took words by Orcadian writers and set them to music. This is a poem called ‘Song’ by Edwin Muir. In it, he is contemplating some of the difficulties in life and the harshness of the world but concludes that even through the most trying times, love gathers all in the end.”
The album title ‘Times from Times Fall’ is taken from a line of same poem and was chosen as a reflection on the passage of time and how long the band have known one another. Long may they continue.
