Hot on the heels of his latest album Anamnesis, summed-up as “where classic British folk meets the sound of wandering American troubadours with a healthy dose of inspiration from the unknown” – Ethan Johns is set to return to the UK next month with his long-standing band Black Eyed Dogs.
His fourth LP saw him reunited with the Black Eyed Dogs, recorded over 2 weeks last winter in what he described as “legitimately one of the best times I’ve ever had making a record.” Spillers, the oldest record store in the world, called it “Easily one of the best records of the year”.
And it all took place in the barn at the bottom of his garden. While they were down there making music they managed to film this video for Runaway Train:
