‘The Blacksmith and The Lady’ is the latest music video from Midland’s acoustic Trio Threaded featuring Jamie Rutherford (guitar & vocals),
Rosie Bott (clarinet) and Ning-ning Li (violin).
Talking about the song they told is “‘The Blacksmith and The Lady’ is a song that has been inspired by traditional folk tales involving love, lust and murder. The idea of the ghostly blacksmith hammering on the anvil was the original idea behind the song, and helps to create the haunting atmosphere!”
Threaded are currently busy working on new material for their third studio album! Alongside this, they have been commissioned to write the music for a new Theatre production, ‘Soonchild’ a book by Russell Hoban, adapted by Red Earth Theatre, and they have secured funding from Arts Council England to support research and development into making this music accessible to the deaf community. The show will tour nationally in 2019, with them also playing the music live!
Threaded’s next live show is on 3rd August at Wilderness Festival!
The video was filmed by Rob Bridge, Redwood Photography at Green Street Arts and the audio was recorded by Joe Broughton.
