David Crosby’s forthcoming European tour will include two UK dates. He’s lined up a total of 14 dates which will kick off at the Once In A Blue Moon Festival in Amsterdam on August 25 and conclude with a set at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on September 16.
Crosby will be touring in support of his 2017 album Sky Trails, which came quickly after the release of 2016’s Lighthouse.
Crosby says: “If there is one thing I know, it’s that music is a healing force – something we really need more of right now.
“So I’ve decided to hit the road again this May with my amazing band, affectionately known as the Sky Trails Band. Keyboardist and vocalist James Raymond, guitarist Jeff Pevar, bassist Mai Leisz, drummer Stevie D and keyboardist and vocalist Michelle Willis.”
In Crosby’s unparalleled six-decade career, the native Californian has created songs that resonate as indelible cultural touchstones for more than three generations, not only as a solo artist, but as a founding member of The Byrds in the mid-60s, Crosby, Stills & Nash (recipients of the Grammy for best new artist in 1969), and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
The folk-rock pioneer, who was inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009, has also served as our social conscience, not only eloquently writing about societal issues on such songs as “Almost Cut My Hair” and “Wooden Ships,” but continuously donating concert proceeds to like-minded causes. His towering influence and brilliant ability to capture the spirit of our times in his music remains undiminished, a beacon shining through the fog and darkness, relaying truth to all who will listen.
