Watch Knife, the latest video from Good Coffee, the creation of Cole Heathcott. The single is taken from their debut album Amercian Love and was recorded at the student-run Small Town Records in Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. This could have easily flown under my radar seeing as the band have no social media presence. Thankfully, they didn’t.

The video reflects on Cole’s own personal experiences of attending a business school where he felt he didn’t belong, the video shows a surreal meal in which the person left feeling awkward appears to be the most normal and down-to-earth. I’m sure this feeling will resonate with many who feel they are maybe on the wrong path.
He clearly has some strong ideas which reflect on his personal experiences and his drive for personal freedom which he shared in an interview with Duke University’s The Chronicle in which he also revealed why the band has no social media presence:
“I feel like a lot of artists are self-indulgent, especially in the social media age,” he said. “I want people to see my music for what it is before they see me.”
My discovery of Good Coffee was by complete chance…we’ll just call it serendipitous.
