Midnight Shift is the new single from Jason McNiff taken from his forthcoming album Joy and Independence which is set for release on July 27th via At the Helm Records. The video was Directed and Edited by Trevor Moss of the Anglophone Recording Company.
Jason shared the following: “This song is about trying to get home one rainy night after a show at the 12 bar club. The 12 bar was a great club with music 7 nights a week, down Denmark St on the edge of Soho. I did many gigs there, often at the end of the night, after the booked acts had finished, on the ‘Midnight Shift’. There’d always be a good handful of stragglers who didn’t want to go home. After, we’d go in to Soho and hang out until the wee hours. This song isn’t quite accurate as it talks about catching the last train. I never made the last train! The 12 bar closed a few years ago to make way for CrossRail and I really miss it.”
