Dizraeli has announced that his new album The Unmaster is available for pre-order today via Indiegogo here. The announcement was accompanied by a very personal video in which Dizraeli explained how, after six years with Dizraeli & the Small Gods he decided to make a solo album on his own.
What followed was a personal struggle in which all his personal demons rushed in, eventually leading to a breakdown in 2016. He sought out help and through a therapist, friends and communicating with fans the songs began to come along with musical ideas that form the basis of the new album. All his fears anxiety and isolation that he had been feeling “poured out into this music”. Talking about the breakdown on his support page he explains that he “realised that the process of learning how to be a man had not equipped me to deal with feelings that weren’t anger or pride. I felt isolated and ashamed, but when I finally dared to talk, almost every man I spoke to had experienced their own struggles. My dear friend told me he had attempted suicide 3 times….We need men out there talking truthfully about their mental health.”
“Drawing on grime, jazz & West African percussion, it tells the story of that breakdown in a London that seems itself insane… I love it. It’s the best record I’ve done. It’s dark, and fierce, and full of mischief and love too. With your support, THE UNMASTER will also be a theatre show and workshops on masculinity & mental health, exploring how we can do better at both.”

What Is The Unmaster?
It’s the idea that you don’t have to already know; you don’t have to be perfect; you don’t have to be a solitary King coping with things alone. You can be an Unmaster in a world of other Unmasters, and it’s alright to ask.
