I’ve put together numerous mixes on Folk Radio, especially over the last three years when a 24-hour radio stream wasn’t also demanding my attention. I love taking listeners on a journey and this latest mix is definitely that. Lost in Transmission No. 41 does a fair amount of globetrotting and begins on a lovely groove, courtesy of The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band before ascending from there via Seward, Chris Corsano, Les Sympathics De Porto Novo (from the new African Scream Contest 2 album), a killer track from Estonian band Etnosfäär to a nine-minute Middle Eastern, North-African and psychedelic rock filled melting pot courtesy of Belgium’s Phoenician Drive (image above) before slowly bringing you back down to earth with some of the most beautiful moving music from the likes of Annie Flemming and Viking Moses and the late Vic Chesnutt (Mix cover image) .
It’s a trip. Enjoy.
