Our Song of the Day comes from Laurence Made Me Cry, the project of multi-instrumentalist and folk pop songstress Jo Whitby.
For Scott was written in memory of the late Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit. The single is released today via Bandcamp as a ‘Name Your Price’ with all proceeds going to the charity Help Musicians. Jo shared the following:
I’ve struggled to put into words the impact of Scott Hutchison’s passing and I don’t even think this comes close. As someone who is still battling depression and suicidal thoughts on a daily basis I would say this is a somewhat cathartic release. It’s a sad song and I suggest that you need to be kind to yourself and only listen to this if you feel up to it. So much love to everyone.
