This week’s folk show, which is a very eclectic mix, opens to a John Renbourn recording made back in 1978 on a hot night in Kyoto (pictured on mix cover). Those that have been following the news on Folk Radio will know this is from the new album being released on Drag City (more here).
We’ve also included a track from Michael Hurley, who at 76, hits the UK shore next month.
Although this week’s show is made up primarily of music from the past there are a few new releases:
‘Low Signal’, the new single from Sara, a name I’m sure you’ll all being hearing more of soon.
Only Ghosts, the title track from Irish band Pine the Pilcrow who we featured recently.
and finally….a track from Works By Tuli Kupferberg (1923-2010), the new album from Jeffrey Lewis.
Underground legend Tuli Kupferberg (1923-2010) was always the oldest man in rock and roll, co-founding the Fugs in the winter of 1964-1965 when he was already in his early 40s. Order it here.
