Originally formed in South East London, musical collective The 286 are now ready to release their new single, Time Immemorial, which we have the pleasure in premiering today ahead of its release on 19th March 2018.
The first in a series of releases to come out over the next year, Time Immemorial is a slight departure from the band’s usual uptempo sound. A stripped back acoustic ballad, it’s filled with sweeping strings and soaring impassioned vocals as delicate finger-picked melodies flow with ease. With a gentle orchestral splendour, The 286 have created a musically rich and utterly charming love song that’ll tug at the heartstrings in all the right ways. Frontman Spencer Hannabuss shared the following on the song:
“Time Immemorial is our first single of 2018 and the first in a series of releases we hope to make over the coming 12 months. It’s a bit of a departure from our usual sound, we’ve stripped down our usual orchestral wall of sound to create a more intimate atmosphere. Our influences, in general, are varied, but in the case of this song, I wanted to write a song in the style of some of the great 60s & 70s songwriters. I definitely had in mind Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Paul Simon and James Taylor when I wrote it. “
Starting out when frontman Spencer Hannabuss posted an advert on the internet for classical musicians to join his band, The 286 have spent the last couple of years building a reputation across London and the South East for their engaging live performances. Now, having graced stages at Beautiful Days festival, Liverpool’s infamous Cavern Club, and at The Jazz Café supporting ‘60s legends The Zombies, The 286 are ready to charm listeners far and wide with their heartfelt new single.
Time Immemorial, the new single from The 286, is out 19th March 2018.
