Although rooted in traditional bluegrass and old-time, The Railsplitters make free-roaming acoustic music that explores way beyond the bounds of those genres. With lush harmonies, instrumental virtuosity and non-conformist songwriting, this versatile band draws on influences including folk, Americana, modern pop and rock & roll. Following the recent release of their third album Jump In, and hot off the heels of their first Australian tour, the Colorado five-piece returns to the UK this month. The 3-week tour kicks off in Carlisle on 25th January and will include their debut appearance at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections festival. There have also been a couple of line-up changes since their last visit to Europe – Lauren Stovall (lead vocals/guitar), Dusty Rider (banjo) and Peter Sharpe (mandolin) have been joined by Joe D’Esposito (fiddle) and new recruit Jean-Luc Davis (double bass).
