Although Shetland fiddler Chris Stout and harpist extraordinaire Catriona McKay have collaborated with other artists in recent years including Séamus Begley and the Scottish Ensemble, it has been a staggering ten years since their last duo album, the critically acclaimed White Nights.
Fans of the duo will, therefore, be thrilled that they are to release a new album on 1st December. The music on Bare Knuckle is almost entirely self-penned such as Louise’s Waltz, a composition by Catriona. Watch them performing the tune in a cottage in Cellardyke. Louise’s Waltz is also our ‘Tune of the Day’.
Talking about the album they declared “We are so proud of this new album ‘Bare Knuckle’. It’s a huge development for us and we can’t wait to perform it live!”
And you can see them performing live very soon with two album launch celebrations on 24th and 25th November 2017:
FRIDAY 24th NOVEMBER: The Queen’s Hall, 85-89 Clerk Street Edinburgh EH8 9JG
SATURDAY 25th NOVEMBER: Gartmore Village Hall (Tickets £12.50 Available from Gartmore Village Shop)
