Has it really been thirteen years since Megson started writing songs together? Apparently so, and to celebrate the occasion they have compiled ‘The Megson Songbook‘.
The book spans the length of their songwriting partnership, from their very first song ‘Just Stay’ written in 2004 to the songs in their latest album ‘Good Times Will Come Again‘.
Also available is a LTD EDITION DOUBLE ALBUM bundle featuring all the tracks in the book PLUS the previously deleted B&W EP from 2004! Order it here.
Megson still have a number of tour dates to play in 2017 (see below) and to celebrate their longevity and fine song writing skills we asked them to share with us their tour playlist – some choice tunes they like to listen to while on the road. Listen to the Spotify playlist below and read what they say about each track.

Tour Playlist
1. The Willows – Red Sands
The standout track from the Cambridge band’s 2nd album Amidst Fiery Skies. After a bit of a break from recording they have new music due out in 2018 – we can’t wait.
2. Bob Fox – Dance To Your Daddy
The velvet tones of Bob Fox can make even the simplest of songs sound moving.
3. The Hold Steady – Stuck Between Stations
Wild electric guitars and captivating narrative from Craig Finn’s Brooklyn band – perfect for late night driving.
4. Eddi Reader – Patience Of Angels
A classic Boo Hewerdine song with the best un-resolving ascending chord pattern of a chorus ever!
5. Vin Garbutt – Not For The First Time
You can hear how Vin inspired Megson in this power-folk protest song. We miss you Vin.
6. Dan Wilde – Windy Head
10 years ago we shade a stage with Lancashire sing-songwriter and the Radio 2 favourite gets better every year.
7. Sam Outlaw – Tenderheart
A Bob Harris recommendation and full of the sounds of late summer….
8. Margo Price – Hands Of Time
We love a bit of dirty country and fell for Margo after her Glastonbury 2017 appearance.
9. Joan Shelley – Brighter Than The Blues
This was the soundtrack to our summer caravan trips – like a mixture between Hem & Laura Cantrell – melt away music…
10. Kelly Oliver – Bedlam
The fantastic folk singer for Stevenage tells us of the dark times of Englands most notorious prison.
