Seamus Fogarty, the Irish alt-folk and electronica alchemist who recently signed to Domino Records has shared another new single and accompanying video from his forthcoming album The Curious Hand (out 6th October). Longtime devotees will recognise the song Heels Over Head which has been part his live set over the last few years. The video features various doodles and paintings he made for the album cover.
Originally from County Mayo on the west coast of Ireland, Fogarty now resides in London, and the capital provides the canvas for The Curious Hand which you can read more about in an earlier post here.
Fogarty will be on tour in October/November and has just announced his guest support: For the Irish dates, he’ll be joined by Arborist whose latest album has just been nominated for this year’s Northern Ireland Music Prize. And for the UK dates, he’ll be joined by the one-man tour de force that is Alabaster dePlume.
The Curious Hand was produced by Seamus and Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Wild Beasts) who also plays on the album. Other notable players include Emma Smith on a plethora of instruments (violin, clarinet, bass to name a few), Rozi Plain (backing vocals), Aram Zarikian (drums) and Seamus’ brother John Fogarty (accordion).
The Curious Hand is available to pre-order on limited-edition yellow coloured vinyl, standard vinyl, CD and digitally.
