On September 29, 2017, Chicago-based Big Sadie will release their debut album on Spindle Tree Records. With an innovative take on folk tradition, Keep Me Waiting tells stories about personal experiences and everyday emotions – love, loss, heartbreak, uncertainty, longing, hope, perseverance, seeking balance, and letting go when the time is right.
Taken from the album, watch the live video for “Need Your Love” (Directed by Potluck Creative) which captures Big Sadie on a sunny day in mid-May in Chicago’s Humboldt Park. The song, written by Collin Moore, is an uptempo number that nods to traditional bluegrass and involves the entire band in a dynamic, collaborative way. Elise Bergman sings harmony vocals, adding depth and sense of dialogue. The banjo and fiddle fills–arranged by the instrumentalists, Andy Malloy and Matt Brown–create a musical push and pull that mirror the emotion of the song. Moore sings to a burning summer romance, to being smitten and trying to play it cool, to the thrill of a new courtship, and to the joy of desire reciprocated. The narrative expresses affection eagerly and maintains the desperation of knowing that love can be lost.
“Need Your Love” is from Big Sadie’s debut album ‘Keep Me Waiting,’ due for release in the UK on September 29th on Spindle Tree Records.
