The Fleadh Cheoil, Ireland’s most important event in the traditional music calendar, is now well underway in Ennis, Co. Clare where the party spirit will be amazing. What better way to mark the occasion than a Song of the Day from Pólca 4. This is is their version of the famous West Kerry song Neilí ‘n Fuacht, and also their new single which features special guest, Steve Cooney on bass. The quartet specialises in the dance music from the West Kerry region, mixing the local polkas and slides with jigs, reels and songs. The music is naturally full of vigour and energy; Pólca 4 are true to this essence but bring their own style and innovations that have made their music wildly popular around the world.
Pádraig Ó Sé (Accordion) Padraig hails from Dún Chaoin west Kerry and is known as one of the finest players of the west Kerry style. He has toured extensively with some of the best and is in popular demand due to his high energy playing and command of polkas and slides & rising the crowds with great craic. Pádraig is also a broadcaster with RTE Raidió na Gaeltachta.
