London-based seven-piece band The Medlars have unveiled their music video for their single Heart of a Home, a song which features on their eponymous debut album which was recently a Featured Album of the Month on Folk Radio UK.
It’s a dark transportation to the Arizonan desert and warns of the risks of the over use of oil. The intro begins with the groaning soundscape of a rusted oil pump before being thrown into a story of the creation of man. It follows man’s subsequent creation of an artificial world that triggers the spiralling deterioration of the modern age.
The director of the video is Joseph Fitz in collaboration with Pear O’Legs Records.
In his review of the album, Neil McFadyen concluded: “The album is as intricate as it is diverse; as entertaining as it is thought-provoking. The Medlars have produced a triumphant debut that time and again rewards repeated listening with delightful voyages of discovery. An album to treasure and a band to watch out for.”
They are as enthralling to watch on stage as they are to listen to on this album so take every opportunity to catch them on their upcoming live dates.
