James Yorkston and Aidan O’Rourke (LAU) have made available a new album on Bandcamp. Summerhall consists of two largely improvised lengthy sets, although the first track contains verses of the trad song ‘Edward’, that James learned from the singing of Jean Ritchie. Listen to it below:
There are a number of other rarities on offer on his Bandcamp page including sessions and albums so be sure to check it out here: https://jamesyorkston.bandcamp.com
Tae Sup wi’ a Fifer
James has also announced three more ‘Tae Sup wi’ a Fifer’ shows at the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy, an evening of very diverse entertainment which saw the likes of Martin Carthy share the bill with Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip and poet Geoff Hattersley. The three new shows will be nothing short of brilliant:

Nov 25, 2017 – Philip Selway / David Thomas Broughton / Kathryn Williams
Dec 02, 2017 – Ol’ Crabbit John / Serafina Steer / Alasdair Roberts
