Nadine Khouri‘s debut album ‘The Salted Air‘ placed the British-Lebanese musician clearly in the window as a name to watch for. Those left wanting more, which included ourselves, won’t have long to wait as on 31 March Nadine releases her new 4-Track Digital Single ‘I Ran Thru The Dark (To The Beat of My Heart)‘ (One Flash Records ). Listen to ‘Away From The Noise‘ above, one of the three stunning B-sides.
Away From The Noise was written in a remote town in Greece, recorded with musician and friend J. Allen and produced by Alan Weatherhead (Sparklehorse, Magnolia Electric Co.) at Sound of Music in Richmond, Virginia.
“I am easily overwhelmed by the noise and speed of things around me these days”, says Khouri of her inspiration for the song. “It’s an early track that didn’t make the album, but where I started exploring the atmospheric direction that eventually led to ‘The Salted Air’. It’s also a rare track where I play a (really lazy) guitar solo!”

To coincide with the release on 31 March she will headline London’s St. Pancras Old Church with special guests Seamus Fogarty and Laish (solo) with a DJ set in between bands from For the Rabbits. To celebrate, we have a special Giveaway (see below), but before that, enjoy this live session performance of Broken Star which also features on the single:
