We have the pleasure in premiering the new video for The Silver Fox, the new single from Gnoss (download via Bandcamp)- a return to what’s at the centre of Gnoss’ sound: tight tune-playing bursting with character. This is the second single from their recording session with Scott Wood (October 2016), you can see the first video we featured here.
Aidan Moodie of the band shared the following with us about the set:
The idea behind the arrangement was to showcase the energy that the new lineup could create, but in a way that would be familiar to listeners that followed Gnoss as a duo. It really feels like an expansion of what we did before, where ‘Waves’ was always more of a step in a new direction.
The set’s composed of three reels;
A Taste of NAFCO – Shane Cook and Jake Charron
The Lads O’ Laois – Trad.
Reel for Grace – Michael McGoldrick
Special thanks to James Lindsay on Double Bass, Scott Wood for recording and producing the track, and Gus Stirrat for filming the music video.
If you’re in Glasgow this Thursday afternoon (26 Jan) you can catch Gnoss playing a short set as part of the Celtic Connections on Campus concert series, and it’s FREE to come and watch! (see details on Facebook here). Also, see their spring tour dates on the gig poster below:
