At the end of September last year, Jim Moray released his sixth album – Upcetera. Jim was our Artist of the Month for the following October, and in his review of the album for FRUK, Thomas Blake heaped plenty of well-deserved praise upon the man and his music:
Moray is a performer of consummate talent, a musician who plays a whole range of instruments on this album…and a singer of rare emotional depth. That he manages to do all this while forging a bright new path for folk music is admirable. That he has done so over six albums and still seems to be hitting his peak while never doing the same thing twice is remarkable. Read the full review here.
Later that same month Jim gave an in-depth, open and honest interview with Rob Bridge for FRUK in which he spoke of both the past and present and what Upcetera represented:
Throughout our conversation, he repeatedly makes it clear that in his own mind, his previous career as a solo artist is now closed. Upcetera is something different; a fresh start…a ‘New Chapter.’ Read the full interview here.
