If some of the faces in this video featuring Irish folk trio Rue look familiar then it’s because two of the members, Cormac Mac Diarmada and Radie Peat, are from Dublin folk miscreants Lynched. They are joined by Brian Flanagan. In a nutshell, they describe their music as:
a truly eclectic mix of traditional songs and tunes from both sides of the Atlantic played with immutable conviction. Expect whaling songs and murder ballads underpinned by a wash of harmonic swells and drones and a barn-dance or two thrown in for good measure.
Watch them performing ‘Katie Cruel,’ in Dublin’s Fumbally Stables. The visuals were created by Donal Dineen and Myles O’Reilly, with Aideen Macken modelling. It was filmed and edited by Donal Dineen and Myles O’Reilly.
