‘Gaelic Americana’ artist Kyle Carey is delighted to announce the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for the creation of her third album The Art of Forgetting – due out next fall.
Kyle will be recording The Art of Forgetting in January with acclaimed producer Dirk Powell at his home studio ‘The Cypress’ house in Louisiana, and would like to invite you to join her on the journey. The album will be comprised of nine originals, two songs in Scottish Gàidhlig and a cover of Nanci Griffith’s ‘Trouble in the Fields’.
The album will add a southern and subtle Cajun element to Kyle’s palette – all the while staying true to her trademark ‘Gaelic Americana’ sound. Aside from Dirk at the helm – the project will enlist some of the finest musicians from both the Americana and Celtic worlds – including guitarist Sam Broussard of ‘Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys’.
